About the Ride
What is ‘Hooked on Healing Veterans’ Ride about?
Hooked on Healing Veterans Ride is raising funds to assist disabled and homeless veterans and is aimed at having a great day of safe riding.
How long is the ride?
Four short segments totalling 66 miles. Please see our Ride Route here.
What time should I arrive on event day?
Registration begins at 8:30am. Last bike out at 10:00am.
What do I bring with me to the event?
Water, appetite, extra $$ for poker run, 50/50 Draw, over $7,000 in Raffle Prizes.
What are the insurance requirements (sanctioning) to ride?
Hooked on Healing Veterans event is sanctioned and insured by Rotary International. All particpants are required to sign an AMA waiver on the day of the event.
Can minors participate in the motorcycle ride?
If you are the parent or guardian of a minor child who wishes to ride as your passener in the event, you will be required to sign a minor release form on the day of the event. If you are not the parent or guardian of the minor passenger, you must bring a signed, notarized release form from the child’s parent or guardian. To ride their own motorcycle in the event, minor riders, must present their motorcycle endorsement and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Minor riders and their parent or guardian will be required to sign minor release waiver onsite on the day of the event that they attend.
Can my fundraising team or motorcycle club/chapter ride together in the event?
Absolutely! Just be sure to arrive at the same time so your bikes can line up together.
Do you provide food and beverages?
All our events include at least one light meal and beverages such as coffee, water and soda. The selection varies, and we cannot guarantee the availability of vegetarian options. Chandler Harley Davidson is serving pastries and coffee 9-10:30am. Fired Up Freedom offers dogs and brats at the post-party 2:00-5:00pm at Chander Harley Davidson.
Are there any rest/break stops during the ride?
Yes. Toilet facilities are available at every stop on the ride. Riding times between stops vary from 15 minutes to a high of 27 minutes.
What happens if it rains on ride day?
Homeless veterans show up rain or shine, and so do we! Pack your rain gear. We do not offer refunds and we thank you for your understanding and support.
How do I register?
Visit our online registration page or come to the registration area on the day of the event. Our online registration closes noon Eastern on the Friday, February 23, 2018 before the event. Onsite registration closes at 10:00am Saturday, February 24, 2018.
How much does it cost to ride?
There is no charge to ride in our event, but we request a donation of $25 for each rider and $10 for each passenger.
Can I pay on the day of the event?
Yes, cash and personal checks can be made payable to San Tan Rotary Foundation. We also accept Visa and MasterCard.
Does my passenger need to register also?
No, but both of you need to check in at the registration area when you arrive to sign the insurance waiver.
I don’t have an email address or Internet access. How do I preregister?
Call 480-339-0247 for assistance.
How can I sign up to be a volunteer?
We have many volunteer opportunities, from working in the parking lot to seated positions in the registration area. Depending on the position you select, you may need to go to a training session before the ride. To help out, email us via our Contact page.
Where does the money go?
Donations are directed to Project Healing Waters, Fans Across America and Arizona Standdown. All three 501 (c)3 organizations are dedicated to supporting wounded and homeless Veterans in our community. Please see our Mission for more information.
Who are checks made out to if I choose to raise funds on my own?
Make checks payable to: “San Tan Rotary Foundation”. What a great idea!!! Form your own team, give yourself a name and go nuts 🙂
Is my credit card information secure?
Yes. Our system uses the latest encryption and security.
Does the Rotary Foundation sell, rent or trade information?
Is my donation tax deductible?
You will receive a tax receipt for any donation in excess of $249.99. Please consult with a tax professional for advice.
Am I free to ask friends or co-workers to sponsor me?
Absolutely! Click on “Honor Club” on our Home Page and print and complete your own “pledge sheet”. Donations should be collected in cash or , if by check, in the name of “San Tan Rotary Foundation“, and mailed to 11123 E. Sunnydale Ct., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248 c/o Stan Kaufman. Or, bring your pledge sheet and cash/checks to registration on the day of the ride.
